2008 is an eventful year for family medicine and primary health care in Malaysia. The FRACGP has just beenaccepted for inclusion in the National Specialist Register. In April, the National Primary Health Care Conference wassuccessfully held. This conference was jointly organised by several organisations, including the Family HealthDevelopment Division (Ministry of Health), Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia (AFPM), and Family MedicineSpecialist Association (FMSA).
Beginning 2008, Malaysian Family Physician (MFP) will be official journals of both AFPM and FMSA. We hope thisjoint venture will take all the stakeholders from cooperation to collaboration and beyond. The Editorial Board of MFPis now expanded. We wish to welcome Dr Safurah Jaafar, the Director of Family Health Development Division, asanother advisor of MFP. Two more FMS, Associate Professor Dr Shaiful Bahari Ismail and Dr Lee Ping Yein, havealso joined as Editorial Members, bringing the representation from FMSA to four.
