Know the medical herb: Catharanthus roseus (Vinca rosea)

Abstract

Catharanthus roseus (synonymous with Vinca rosea) is aperennial plant commonly seen in tropical countries. Sevenspecies of this genus are native to Madagascar and onespecies is native to Southern Asia.1 It is more commonly knownas Madagascar periwinkle. The local name in Malaysia isKemunting Cina. The National Cancer Council of Malaysia(Majlis Kanser Nasional, MAKNA) uses the periwinkle logo asits symbol of hope for cancer patients. (copied from article)
